The missing men were ... missed. It was a good night last night. I was afraid it was necessary to stay with Overgrown for a while. Highlights - the jousting has become a regular attraction the last two sessions ( rules - you commence a joust while sprinting in the direction of your foe, and at the last minute slicing his throat ), Chris had to search for his father's new route atop a southern building on CRASH ( all attempts being thus in vain, a good distraction nevertheless ), no vehicles, many a comment about entering prestige mode ( all hype, no takers as of yet ), Jeremy performed unspeakable acts on sniper hill on evergrown ( i didn't feel a thing until I was dead ), and lastly many a man died within the direct vicinity of the farmhouse.

Another Attempt

I built a new model plane and attempted to fly it today. After the first launch, the plane took off in a steep climb and stalled. It came crashing down, though miraculously only needed some minor repairs. On the second attempt, things seemed much more promising. The takeoff was right and I soon began a nice easy turn to the left. A steep climb, a steep drop, a sweeping left turn, up again, and then down into the snow. The impact didn't reach us until a few seconds later, but the deep CRACK struck deep into my heart.

I put on the snow shoes and began the long walk to my plane. As I strode out, several thoughts began their steady stream into my conscious. Why did I build that stupid plane? Why am I such a lousy pilot? Perhaps I'll put my all of my model airplane stuff next to my golf clubs, my skateboard, my painting supplies, my weights, my kayak, my pilot's license, and my hockey gear.

The plane lay in two pieces, and despite the shockingly wretched sound, the damage was repairable. I may indeed live to fly again. A couple of magpies laughed at me as I walked back cradling my plane. That helped my morale.
