Gripes

Does anyone else miss the days of shooting the Way-Lynns in the back while they're running in place? What about walking along the guy-wire of the tram or stealing the flag and running back into the tram as fast as you can (while you hear Jason and Dave say, "Wait, where's the flag?")? Or perhaps the dance of the welrod, paintball mode, DK mode, and Natalya? Or maybe watching Jeremy and Mike hop into a jalopy and blowing them to kingdom come? The zombie mode has brought back a little of this flavor in my mouth, but it seems that the race for XP points is leaving a poor taste in my mouth. I'm starting to feel as if the public matches are making me not want to come online as much and I'm not getting the brotherhood fix that I once received from online play. My excuse to come online has been the camaraderie, but I end the night unfulfilled. Like I said however, the zombie mode is helping me relive the glory days, but now with the new bond these sessions might be fleeting (I known it was my idea to play bond; I thought a fresh pull would help my online psyche). Any thoughts?

I know what you mean... I like the zombie sessions alot, but... Only four can play at a time! If we could get a couple more people to play, we could be playing two zombie games, yet still be in the same xbox live party? The other drawback to zombies is time. Each game lasts like an hour. Maybe we should check out some new games that are more like zombies, that have a 6-player co-op mode. Or even, dare I say It, Red Alert?

I actually miss playing domination on crossfire. Maybe the new game in november will rejuvenate us all.

I hear you. Maybe we should do some Modern Warfare again. My problem with new games is wanting to play publics so I can get a decent gun. Maybe we should play more privates together.

I definately understand the need for getting better guns, yet for some strange reason we all went into prestige mode. I thought Mike and I had a nice game of Red Alert. It's definately an easy-to-use platform. I'm always up for a game of Red Alert. Maybe what I'm looking for is found in the MMOs?

Maybe I'll just buy a dreamcast

I hear dreamcasts are pretty good, anonymous- is that you mike? And while I like the idea of red alert, it brings me back to my main gripe with zombies: only 4-player! Now there's a new map-pack coming out in june, with a japanese zombie level. maybe they will make it be more than 4-player.

I think the problem has to do with us not playing together. It seems like in those public matches we don't ever use strategy or anything and everyone's in it for their own glory. I feel like that feeling would only be exacerbated in strategy games like Red Alert.

Jer, I agree. Maybe if we're playing publics, we should steer away from team deathmatch and play games where we have a common goal like war or domination.

Also, did I let anyone borrow my flight of the conchords DVD's? I can't find them anywhere.

I argee Jer. We should work as a group. We always say it but I don't know if we've actually done it.

You can play up to six with Red Alert 3, although i too don't think it's the best medium. Perhaps it's the public matches that are bothering me. Perhaps it's being taken to seriously.

Mike and I are thinking of getting this Far Cry 2 game. It says on the back that you can create your own multiplayer maps and use whatever weapons, vehicles and weather systems from the single player game in creating these maps. sounds kind of like COD 3 meets Tony Hawk 3.

I think i agree with what scott said about getting hooked on xbox live points, perhaps we should play for the pure joy of fratenal comradery and not the filthy lucre.

I'm still trying to guess who anonymous is.

Dave said...

Me too.

I've successfully made two maps on Far Cry 2, they include swap and fishing boats, dune buggies, hang gliders and a large barge with giant machine guns and a deck cannon.

I think I'll give it a wield
