Land Desolation

I'll post this one for Dad.  I'm not sure if he knows where this blog resides.  I mentioned the August trip to him and he seemed like he may want to go.  His vote was for the Desolation wilderness,  which is the area just to the southwest of Tahoe.  It's a little farther for you guys, and really close to me.

This sounds pretty fun too. Though it may be a little more crowded, and they might be a little stricter with permits here. The Calverts' ward YM does a yearly trip to Loon Lake, and that sounds pretty fun. Its more of a car camping spot though, since its linked to the Rubicon jeep trail.

Steph and i hiked about 5 miles into the desolation wilderness a couple years back it reminded me alot of yosemite. tons of little lakes.

I have the best kids ever. So glad you're all who you are. It makes me happy that you all love to hike and enjoy being in the mtns, especially that you like to do that together!
